Buttner Preserve

Town: Pomfret
Acreage: 53.3
Protected since: 2008

This 53-acre tract abuts Connecticut Audubon Society property on three borders and the land trust's Butts preserve to the south. A loop trail connects to the Connecticut Audubon Society trail system, which is most easily reached via the Audubon trails. Upland forest, early successional shrublands, and wetland forests are present on this preserve. Three agricultural fields grow corn or alfalfa. Indigo buntings, scarlet tanagers, blue-winged warblers, and screech owls are some of the birds that can be found here.
