Canterbury

Mature oak/white pine forest in the center with a grove of large Norway Spruce.
Some of the known birds nesting include: Great-horned Owl, Wild Turkey, Eastern Towhee, Blue-winged Warbler, Ovenbird and a pair of Ospreys.

This preserve is in a somewhat inaccessible region. Located on the Quinebaug River, it consists of early successional habitat and old meadow. There is no easy public access and the nearest highway is Packer Road to the east. This preserve lies on the west side of the Quinebaug River in Canterbury. The area is adjacent to critical habitat. There has been evidence of nesting ospreys.
