Linda J. Rapoport Memorial Preserve

Visit this preserve on AllTrails.com

This scenic area of Woodstock is a combination of two contiguous preserves–the Linda J. Rapoport Memorial Preserve and the Paul and Avis Spalding Preserve. The Linda J. Rapoport Memorial Preserve has frontage on Pulpit Rock Road and is divided by the Taylor Brook beaver pond. The northern section of the preserve includes three active hayfields off Joy Road which will remain as farm land.
A one-mile loop trail from Pulpit Rock Road takes visitors through the woods to the west of the Taylor Brook beaver pond.
A discontinued town road–Calkins Road–runs from Pulpit Rock Road alongside the east edge of the pond and takes visitors past the Paul and Avis Spalding Preserve. The preserve is a former corn field and is being converted to grass pasture. You can continue north on Calkins Road to Joy Road, a distance of one mile.
To access the trails, you can park near the beaver pond along Pulpit Rock Road. Look for Wyndham Land Trust signs.
